Link’s mom is together with a guy that Link doesn’t like. Not only because he makes sexual comments about his mom all the time and he is changing his mom, for the worse. It is also because he tried doing something with Link’s sister. It got to the point where Link’s sister moved out.
One time Vince (Link’s moms boyfriend) slapped Link and that was the last straw. Link ran away. He used to go to his sister’s apartment to shower, eat and have a decent sleep, since she moved out after Vince tried doing something with her. But that didn’t work out. His sister’s boyfriend started getting irritated with him and he had to stop going. He didn’t say it, but Link could see it in Chris. So he stopped going.
Link was now fully homeless. He had applied for some work, but most of them wanted experience from before, which Link didn’t have
Shelter talks about how some people see soldiers as murderers. But that is not how Shelter sees it. A soldier’s job is to protect his country even if it means killing someone. They dont’t jail your for killing the enemy of the country. They want you to protect it, even if it comes to killing someone. It’s a whole different case at home. You are a single individual at home that has no right to kill anyone, but you do have it on the battle field. They pay you to kill people.
